Biking for transportation has always been core to my climate influence story, and that all started for me with a friend-assisted epiphany in Portland, in the 90s.
What I realized after going off and buying a beat up 3-speed with an under-oiled chain at a thrift store the very next day was that it was INCREDIBLY joyful to ride a bike to/from work every day and that this was absolutely my new first choice from then on.
That was now some 25+ years ago and I have never looked back.
Epiphanies. We ALL have had them. Take a look. What sort of crossroads or interaction with a person has shifted thinking overnight for you?
If you didn’t have someone nudge you toward biking and eating plant-based (I’ll share that story in a future post), take a look at how this happened for you in another way.
Can you SEE how YOUR being seen as a leader living your climate values out loud could help shift some of your peers?
THAT’s what I call Climate Influence.
