There’s definitely an air of “what can we do now?” floating around in my world. How can the climate work that we’ve all be doing for so long continue to move forward? For climate influence, it’s really just a doubling down on the original theory.

Build your own visibility in how your behavior has changed as part of your leadership presence. Let your example tell the story and nudge peers.
Being on stage during ClimateWeek and posting regularly about your company’s sustainability data is one thing, but… what about the you that is living through your every day? How do climate values enter in?
Do you realize that any stakeholder builds more trust with leaders if they also feel like they can get to know them as humans? That’s the crossover gold for climate influence.
Leaders who are seen living their climate values offstage as well as on, even with just quiet signals or reflections, will have the most influence.
So, that’s the launch point for today’s audio post.
If you’ve gotten a tad more visible about living some of your climate values, I’d love to hear about it. The whole idea is that the more we see “out loud” normalization of this in our various communities and networks, the more permission is given to those folks who may have needed that cue to now up and do the same.
Oh, the joy in that.

#ISpyClimateInfluence Heads UP: I’m using that tag and finding examples of unexpected or “unusual suspect” climate influence on Bluesky mainly, but also a bit on LinkedIn. And, I am working that in as a segment for my new Climate Influence podcast. So - if YOU see it and are on either of those platforms (or, here on Substack as well!), please tag me/use the tag. I’m gathering examples to amplify in more ways.
Until Next Time:
Between Substack posts, you can also find me on Bluesky and LinkedIn. And, to learn more about my deep background in marketing to women (I wrote a book on it!), my Living Change climate leadership podcast and/or to find more of my archived content from the past few years, check out my Linktr.ee
