It’s been rough. We’ve all been sorting. Let’s double down on strategies for narrative shift, framing and storytelling. You will not find it surprising that I still see massive potential for better understanding, developing and amplifying leadership level climate influence. This is not your usual “thought leader” approach. No. I’m here for reflecting leaders as the humans with convictions and climate values that they are. My latest short audio post is a cheer. We have tools and insights we can much better use. Let’s GO!
An excerpt:
And professionally, … I'm realizing that climate work will, of course, be even more important. But that our storytelling strategies, including more on who has influence and why, are going to be the key. And they always were, but I feel like we have to double down and get a lot more strategic here.
So on that note, my concept of climate influence remains. It didn't change because of this election.
We haven't identified and leveraged the people of influence who can shift social norms for leadership in this sector, in their sectors. And though we had been arriving at the importance of local leadership, city councils, mayors, et cetera, we now know that it is exactly there where the climate work has to happen.
And my contention that city leadership has long been influential for climate was already there.
If you see half of my Living Change podcast guests…were mayors, city council members, or assembly people.
I stick by that, and I'm going to continue to really look at cities and local leadership in all my work.

My Living Change: A Quest for Climate Leadership podcast, which includes six interviews with inspiring-as-heck mayors, city council members or assembly persons (5 are in the U.S. and 1 is in North Vancouver, B.C.) . Here’s the Apple link too, and you can find it on all platforms. Of course, ratings/reviews always welcomed! You can find the extra-incredible, 2-part interview I did with Emeryville’s John Bauters there.
Run On Climate is the new client I mentioned, and Jack Hanson is their Executive Director. They are on various platforms, but I’d extra-suggest you follow them both on LinkedIn and Bluesky - as that’s where I most advise any climate leader to spend their time now.

Thank for for subscribing and sharing, and spreading the word about Climate Influence. You’ve likely got some that you are not building and leveraging, so get on that.
For those who are ready for a jumpstart in understanding and building their own influence, let’s do a call.
And, if there’s anything in the news or out there being discussed in your sector that you’d like a potential climate influence “take” on, let me know (DM here works great too) and I may cover it in a future post.
